How to renovate or protect concrete surfaces?

Warmer days invite us to take care of the surroundings of our home. One of the elements that can be next on the renovation list are retaining walls or other concrete surfaces. There is a system solution for them intended to renovate them so that they are durable and aesthetically compatible with other elements of the house, garden, terrace, etc.

TAKRIL Classic (concrete paint) is a TOP choice for highly durable protection of all internal and external concrete and other cement-bonded surfaces. Among other things, it provides:

  • all requirements that comply with the strict EN 1504-2 standard,
  • superior permanent water repellency and
  • CO2 impermeability, which is key to protecting reinforcement in concrete.

Good water repellency and CO2 impermeability are extremely important in the protection of concrete surfaces, because when CO2 and water react, acid is produced, which damages the reinforcement in the concrete. Water can otherwise be present if the concrete structure is not well waterproofed or it penetrates through the coating if it is water permeable. However, TAKRIL Classic, with all its features, ensures a long service life and surface protection.

  • TAKRIL Classic offers a wide range of colour shades that can be tinted at JUMIX stations, while ready-made shades or tinting with DIPI concentrate are suitable for smaller quantities.
  • It enables manual and machine application.
  • It is suitable not only for vertical, but also for floor surfaces,
  • indispensable when preparing or renovating retaining walls or concrete surfaces in basements, garages, on balconies, etc. and for the decorative protection of asbestos-cement and concrete roof tiles.

Practical example: renovation of a retaining wall

  1. First, apply JUKOL Primer.
  2. Prepare the waterproofing: 3x application of HYDROSOL Classic compound.
  3. Choose the most suitable colour shade and finish the renovation with decorative protection: 2x TAKRIL Classic concrete paint.
