Solutions for facade mould

Cracks, algae, and mould on the facade not only cause an unesthetic effect, but also a deterioration of the protection of the entire thermal insulation system and a deterioration of the façade’s basic functional properties. In continuation, we provide advice how to effectively fight against mould on the facade and what is particularly important to pay attention to.

1.) First, wash the surface with high-pressure washing and brushing.

2.) After 24 hours of drying, a thorough disinfection process follows. We can use the following:

  • ALGICIDE Plus Spray or
  • ALGICIDE Plus Concentrate, which is previously diluted with water in a ratio of 1:5 and applied with a brush. It is especially recommended for rougher surfaces.
    In the case of more infected surfaces, repeat the disinfection process after 24 hours. It is important to carry out the disinfection in dry weather, as rainfall can wash away the applied layer (algicide, which must remain on the surface).

3.) After 24 hours, the primer is applied, which is diluted with water up to a maximum of 5 %.We recommend using REVITAL Primer, which effectively covers hairline cracks and improves paint adhesion.

4.) After 6-8 hours, the facade paint is applied. We recommend REVITALCOLOR.

REVITALCOLOR

  • Micro-reinforced facade paint that perfectly bridges cracks up to 0.3 mm wide;
  • It has superior water repellency and resistance to weather influences, which is important for good protection against the appearance of algae and mould;
  • It enables tinting to the desired colour shades;
  • It effectively inhibits further development of algae and mould.

If your facade is heavily contaminated with algae and mould, we recommend an individual consultation, for which you can call our technical advisor on 080 15 56.
