Why does wall mould appear?
Wall mould appears on the surface of poorly thermally insulated or non-insulated walls and ceilings and in places of thermal bridges. In addition to poor thermal insulation, mould is caused by poor waterproofing or insufficient ventilation of interior spaces.
How do we prevent the formation of mould?
We periodically observe the cleaned surface and react immediately at the first signs of mould. The effect of the paint, which inhibits the growth of mould, is longer lasting if it is applied in the initial phase of mould development.
As a preventive measure, you can prevent the appearance of mould by regularly ventilating the premises several times a day to allow water vapor to freely travel outdoors. In case of stubborn mould problems, we recommend regular preventive painting of critical areas.
However, mould problems can only be permanently solved with improved or additional thermal insulation of the building.
Step 1
Mould removal – first wipe the infected interior walls and ceilings well with a wet cloth.
Step 2
Disinfection of infected surfaces – coat the dry substrates with diluted ALGICIDE Plus spray product. Apply in one layer, and for heavily infected surfaces, we recommend applying two layers with an interval of 8 to 12 hours.
Step 3
Painting – after 8 to 12 hours, when the substrates are completely dry, we start painting. We especially recommend the use of the special interior wall paint JUPOL Citro, which contains effective film protection against mould.
