Technique instructions

Preparation of substrate:

  1. The substrate must be dry, solid, free of oil stains and similar filth.
  2. Smooth the substrate with DECOR Smooth relief/JUBOLIN P15 in a total thickness of 3 mm. Sand the dried coat and clean the dust.
  3. Apply AKRIL Emulsion diluted with water in a ratio of 1:1 to the dried DECOR Smooth relief/JUBOLIN P15 with a roller and let it dry for at least 6 hours.
  4. Apply DECOR Marmorin in a white shade in as thin as possible coat. We recommend a two-coat application. The dried coats are smoothed with a stainless smoothing trowel to a semi-shiny gloss.

Preparation of technique:

  1. Preparation of two or more pastel shades of DECOR Marmorin, which are tinted with DIPI Super color/DIPI Koncentrat, with at least one intensive colour shade. If we are working with a monochrome technique, we conduct tinting only in this shade.
  2. Apply all the tinted samples to the stainless smoothing trowel and mix them incompletely. Such mixture is applied in a thin layer in irregular lines to reproduce the appearance of polished natural stone. During the application, make sure to work as thin as possible and collect the excess material from the substrate. The excess material that has been removed should not be used again. 20 minutes after obtaining the desired effect, we begin to polish the treated substrate with a harder stainless smoothing trowel. After 3 hours, we begin to polish the substrate with a harder stainless smoothing trowel to the highest possible gloss.
  3. After 24 hours, or when the last coat is completely dry, we can start making decorative elements of gold leaves, foil, veins, etc. The veins are made with DECOR Marmorin in the desired colour shade, while considering dilution with water to a consistency that can be applied with a brush (liner).
  4. After complete drying, or after 24 hours, start applying DECOR Wax. It is applied with a stainless smoothing trowel as thin as possible. Repeat the procedure after 3 hours.
  5. When the last coat of DECOR Wax is completely dry, we start polishing. Polishing is carried out manually or mechanically. In case of machine polishing, we use a polishing tool made of sheep fur. Start the polishing at slow revs; when the substrate starts to gain gloss, the revs are slightly increased. For manual polishing, use a specific-purpose decorative smoothing trowel, with which we cover the entire substrate with steady movements and slightly stronger pressure on the substrate.
